An Experimental Study for the Improvement of the Stain Resistance for Exterior Wall Paints in a Western City in China

In recent years, with the rapid development of building industry in western cities during period “Western Development” China, paints has developed rapidly and become more mature. addition, waterborne inorganic exterior wall have been a great choice because their reduced volatile organic compounds (VOCs) less toxicity odor. However, problem stain resistance for not solved, which major obstacle to application promotion China. Therefore, effective measures should eventually be carried out improving this paper, an experimental study on typical city Chongqing, is reported. three defined designs, effects paint structure type, pigment volume concentration (PVC), thickeners, cosolvents wetting dispersing agents were examined. The results suggest that silicone–acrylic was most suitable among kinds tested (silicone–acrylic paint, styrene–acrylic pure acrylic paint). PVC had influence paints. compactness, water absorption paint’s film when PVCs reached 45%. Furthermore, made same contributions paints’ resistance, as decline rates reflectivity similar. significantly decreased ratio associating thickener non-associating 4:1, also declined content propylene glycol 5%.
